Jane Lane, Communications Director

I found it interesting that last week, just as Gov. Romney began his $50,000-a-week radio ad campaign, entitled "Working Together" in which he lists all of his accomplishments made possible through the cooperation of the state Legislature, the Mass Republican Party declared war on the House budget. So much for cooperation by the Governor!

Rather than spend tens of thousands of campaign dollars on radio ads touting his new-found spirit of cooperation, for once why doesn't Romney just walk into a rep. or senator's office and talk to them? That would be an appropriate start -- most of them have never met the governor even though they've worked in the same building for the past two years.

Actions speak louder than words.

Jane,

I wish to thank you for creating this blog. The numerous Yahoo groups are fragmented and subject to inappropriate editing. They have served their purpose, but now we have THREE communications tools, each with its own characteristics and atrributes:

WEBSITE - http://www.massdems.org/home-page.html - the state party's official "face" to the public, home of static information and announcements of a widespread nature; also the home of the master events calendar.

BLOG - http://www.massdems.blogspot.com/ - for dissemination of state committee-level information and individual responses.

FORUM - http://p221.ezboard.com/bmassachusettsdemocraticparty - for detailed discussion

It may take some effort to wean members from the email/posting-based Yahoo system, but I am sure the owners are capable.

Gee, I spent 6 years in the State House as a rep and never got a visit from Dukakis -- and even when I went to his office to watch him sign MY bill, he never said hello to me.

Then again, he didn't have to.
