Caucus Roundup- In Search of Stories

Hi everyone- We're just starting to catch our breaths around here after Saturday's caucuses. Turnout was phenomenal- an estimated 35,000 Democrats particiapted in their communities. Reports from the field indicate that both Tom Reilly and Deval Patrick will be able to achieve their 15 percent at the June convention. I'm turning this post over to you now- did you attend your caucus? If so, please share your experience with us. Thanks!

check out Blue Mass Group, which has over 100 postings on the caucuses ...

I don't see many Reilly "wins" up there, you sure he had 15%?

I attended mine and got a few delegates for my chosen candidate, Patrick, where there would have been none. It was my first caucus and very educational. I told my ward chair I was interested in joining the LDCC and I know some of the other new people I brought in were also thinking of joining. I would love to see the LDCC revitalized and capable of reversing a trend in Lowell where we are losing memebers (while unenrolled and Republican numbers are going up).

Attending my first caucus was amazing!! Seeing so many people from my local community come out in full support for the Democratic Party and those individuals running in the 2006 election was incredible!!I was able to participate and run for a delegate spot within my town committee. Even though I was unable to be elected, I am proud to have gone to my town caucus meeting and proud to be a Democrat!!!

I attended the Brookline caucus on Saturday. I had never been to a caucus and was not sure what to expect. I was amazed by the number of people who attended and inspired by their energy. Participating in the Brookline caucus was such a great experience and I look forward to being more involved. I left the caucus confident that we will have a big victory in November.

I attended the Burlington caucus on
Saturday. I was there two years ago when there were only 17 people present and Burlington needed 17 delegates. Therefore, I
was amazed to see nearly 50 people
crowding the room - which was an area much too small! Since there usually are only 6-9 people at our Committee meeting I figure someone got on the phone to rally previous attendees. The meeting was run efficiently and the voting was pretty straightforward. I noticed a lot of enthusiam for Deval Patrick.
